Hi Mike, brilliant job. just a quick question. I notice that you almost doubled up on the treenailing points. I am not building the SOTS yet,so have no idea what is behind the planking. Was it done purosely, in other works necessary or preference? Rgds, Hans "It's okay to make mistakes. mistakes are our teachers - they help us to to learn, even if it is painfully" Current Build: Endeavour Cross section,D51 Completed: HMS Victory Under the bench: Endeavour x 2,Sovereign of the Seas, Akagi and The Black Pearl!HMS Victory Cross Section

Hi Hans thanks for looking in, and for your kind comments the treenails are placed every 15/18mm, except on the centre section where the gun ports are, and it is my interpretation of how my build should be, so it is my preference I hope that helps Kind regards Mike MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Thanks Mike, the reason for asking is that I would like to try that on my SOTS and Endeavour to try and make it more realistic. It is also to learn a new skill. Excellent work Mike .Now we can begin to see your vision take shape,it all makes sense now its together. The varnish is important on a natural wood ship as it offers some protection whilst you work on other areas. There is nothing worse than trying to remove a paint drip or dirty finger mark on bare wood.I will be honest,I though the thread might fur up with sanding but I was wrong as you have proved.Looking forward to reading your next 'phase' of construction. Kind Regards Nigel

Hi Mike, simply love it.. . beautiful work on that stern.... .. Gives me an idea as to how my lower hull will look with the trenailing so thanks for showing.... .. Also think the red ocre for the port linings is a better choice of colour, it actually shows up more.... Keep posting,,,, Regards Alan

Stunning work Mike! Reading your build diary is absolutely fascinating and an inspiration for those doing this for the first time. Have you ever considered a youtube channel? Looking forward to seeing more of your progress. Regards Ryan.
