NMBROOK wrote:Excellent work Mike .Now we can begin to see your vision take shape,it all makes sense now its together. The varnish is important on a natural wood ship as it offers some protection whilst you work on other areas. There is nothing worse than trying to remove a paint drip or dirty finger mark on bare wood.I will be honest,I though the thread might fur up with sanding but I was wrong as you have proved.Looking forward to reading your next 'phase' of construction. Kind Regards Nigel Thank you Nigel for your positive comments it is much appreciated All the best Mike MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

THE GUN CARRIAGE I have been talking to a very good maker of period ship accessories, who I have a very good relationship with, they have helped me to develop many of my ship enhancements. I want a gun carriage made from walnut, for my Victory and the SOTS as at 1/84 scale the grain looks like oak, I can show you photos of what is possible, but the project is only viable if we can get upwards of 20 people interested. The kit will include 5 pairs of carriages, to include 1 the carriage in walnut with axles and trucks in walnut. 2 Brass etch trunions 3 brass etch flint locks 4 to be totally compatible with the barrel Deag have supplied 5 2mm blocks the small cannon carriages can be scratch built from the walnut remnants of the main carriages.or use the ones supplied. Size 6 fish hooks give a very good scale EYE!and will work with rigging thread 0.10mm. we can incorporate any item we wish but all additions add cost to the kit. I have been experimating with crimson ink with very good results from rowney have look at the photos Kind regards Mike MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.
