A MASSIVE congratulations on your selection Alan. You will have to get used to it,you ARE living proof that a beginner can take on a project like SOS and with care, thought and patience, start to produce a lovely model.Thirty years ago when I built my first timber ship model,I didn't even know what a 'treenail' was.Its stories of modellers like yourself that help our hobby to live on to the next generation and not become a dying art.Just realised I sound really old,I'm only 42LOL LOL LOL LOL

Hi Nigel, a huge thank you for those wonderful words of support.... This forum and its members have been brilliant to me since the day I joined.. the words of encouragement, advice, tips and techniques they have given me have been truly inspirational and I can only thank them... My thinking is as you have said, if my diary advertises our forum, encourages novices to take the plunge, have a go and keep this wonderful hobby going then I will be more than happy..... Will simply try to do what I can to support the forum and the members within it.... Cool Cool

Kind regards

Alan
