Hi Mike
Very interested in this one.Are you proposing to use the same carriage profile for both Victory and SOS?
Kind regards
Nigel

Hi Nigel, the answer is yes because they are the same scale with the same bits, and the SOTS was the fore runner of the Victory, so it will save money developing the enhancement, and I can spread the orders across the two vesselsBigGrin makes sense?

Thanks for declaring your interestBigGrin Kind regards Mike

This is what the carraige looks like( I have since changed the eyes) it is a bigger model for my Endeavour:-

Here are some comparison photos as promised, if we get enough members to express an interest, we then need to decide what is in the kit so that we can obtain a price Kind regards Mike

Hi Mike,
Looking at the comparison pics, the one thing that becomes apparent is the possible difference in axle to cannon height.Have you checked that the distance from deck to cannon is the same?
Kind Regards Nigel

Hi Nigel, yes I have, there is no problem but I will check it again to be on the safe side, because the ones I order will be lazer cut to the exact measurements I give them, they will not be available from any other wholsaler or distributor. there will be those amongst us who say they can get the carriages from x y z, but they will not these will be excusive to me, for the Forum members, available for VICTORY and SOTS builders.

So far we have 2 people who have declared their interest, with me that is 3 we need alot more than that to make this project work.

Kind regards MikeBigGrin

It is early days yet,and as the cannons wont be needed till much later in the build,we will just have to see what happens.

Hi Nigel, I am sorry to disagree with you,but the carriages will take some time to plan and prepare then manufactureBigGrin plus The Victory require the same size which is more advanced than the SOTS.

If you have changed any of the deck heights on your model they may not fit your model.

Kind regards

Mike

Hi Mike
I see what you mean Mike, that's a fair comment.I haven't changed the deck heights, but tweaked everything to ensure the supplied cannons would work out exactly in the centre of the gunports, allowing for the 3mm camber I am building into the decks. This is allowing for different wheel sizes front and rear of the carriages.
Kind Regards Nigel

ISSUE 38

Hi all, I have fitted the parts sent with this issue, I used mini long bars for clamping, I steamed the stern panel and while wet I placed it between 2 bowls to obtain the small curve required.

Aliphatic adhesive as usual was used here are the photos of the process:-
