I'm starting my own build diary of the Sovereign of the Seas. This is my first build. I have subscribed through Jacklin, the South African distributor of the SOTS, and have received upto issue 7 to date. This is my progress to date. Any comments are welcome. Regards Kobus

Thanks For the feedback guys. I'm inspired by all the other builds and if I can get by build to half the quality of the other builds I will be happy! Kobus

Just reworked the first two cannons. I initially painted it but was not happy with the outcome. I bought myself an airbrush and Humbrol enamel bronze (171) paint. It was a bit of a struggle to get the old paint off! I've completed the airbrushing and is happier with the result, the details are much more visible! Kobus

I realy look forward to the build, I'm getting impatience with the waiting for the next delivery from Jacklin, but as Hans has reminded me that 'This hobby is all about patience!' I follow all the other SOTS builds and I'm getting good ideas for mine. Regards Kobus

Good to see your pics Kobus. you are coming along nicely, take your time and enjoy. I will be joining you in a few months time as I need to complete my Victory before I start on another build. If you are the impatient type and have the time, why do you not acquire a second smaller build and do them side by side?? Rgds, Hans "It's okay to make mistakes. mistakes are our teachers - they help us to to learn, even if it is painfully" Current Build: Endeavour Cross section,D51 Completed: HMS Victory Under the bench: Endeavour x 2,Sovereign of the Seas, Akagi and The Black Pearl!HMS Victory Cross Section

Hi Hans That is exactly what I'm considering doing, especialy to get some practise on the planking. Is there any good small projects that you can recommend? Regards Kobus
