Thanks for the nice comments! Peter, your method of keeping the tiles in their place looks more time-consuming. With the glue i use, i just press the tiles against the hull - no need for pins. But your work looks wonderful and very neat and clean. I´m following with great interest. Jase, thanks for the compliment - but i like your tiling as well. It´s interesting, how everyone uses slightly different methods when it comes to the tiling - and in the end, all (or most) of the methods look brilliant and are an upgrade of the model. Added a few rows at the stern lately:When removing glue, some of the black colour was wiped away. Will have to fix that, when the tiling is done.DaDokta attached the following image(s): Greetings, Walter

Hi Walter
You are doing a great job on your HMS Victory, keep up the great work and keep the pictures coming. I was looking at your 1/4 side gallery pictures. I see that you also got your Gallery Enhancement kit from Mike as did I.
Last week when I was checking out the alignment of the 1/4 Gallery panel I found the same problem that you had, the side gallery panels were to low a d out of line. I checked my whole gallery build out and every thing was as it should be via the my instructions. I then focused in the gallery on the second deck, and decided that this deck was cut 2mm to narrow to put the side gallery windows in line with the gun ports.
I then unglued the upper hull wings and the stern panel and then the forward end of the second deck and moved it 2mm aft, this corrected my window alignment. I then glued in spacers to the forward end of the deck and also to the upper hull wings and my trouble was over.
I hope this helps in your build, I am working on the HMS Victory via AL.

Great job on the tiling Walter. Cab you say a bit about how you got a nice sharp edge on the water-line, that's where I am at the moment?

Hi Lawrence, i used the original DA parts for the side galleries and only the rear panel from Mike´s enhancement. Of course with a lot of adjustments you can fit the side parts to match the DeA-hull. @John I´m afraid i can`t help you with the water-line problem. I´m at the moment trying to get there myself. It´s a very time-consuming process, i often need two or three tiles until i get a right fit. I´m not very happy with my results myself. I will try and add a few pictures the next couple of days to show, where i`m at. I´m in a bit of a hole at the moment, don`t have very much fun with the build right now!! The waterline is always a problem I think, whether painting or coppering, especially coppering. What I do is find the smallest and thinest length of wood and make that your waterline. You get a nice neat line for tiles and the painting side is a doddle. If you just nail it on ,it can always be removed but I tend to leave mine. Hope this may help you if not now but in future builds HMS Surprise HMS Snake HMS Bounty HMS Royal Caroline HMS Victory rebuild HMS Supply

Thanks Moriarty! As promised i`ll post a few pictures of my progress. Up to now i`ve tiled two thirds of the starboard side. I´ve refreshed the black paint to make the waterline better visible.
As stated i found it very hard to achieve a straight line - it`s far from perfect. But after all i must say, i`m more satisfied with the result than i thought at first.
As mentioned in previous posts i use "UHU KRAFT" adheasive. At the waterline i first glue the whole tile in its place. Then i use a bendable ruler to mark the line on the tile. Next i remove the tile, which is no problem with the adheasive i use, and cut it to the marked size (either with a sharp knife or with small scissors). The tile is then glued in its place again.
Here are the pictures:Now for the rest of the starboard hull!
