Hi All, Got to the last two 50mm planks at the stern and not sure what the problem is. Mag shows two 50mm planks ending up almost level with the top of the gallery. My build, first 50mm plank matches top of gallery and one plank to go. Here`s a pic: So question is, do I carry on and cut accordingly when trimming the top edges or have I made a error and need to do some corrective work? Derek, just keep planking until you are above the top of the ribs, you will be trimming back later.... You will be planking well above the top of the ribs almost along the whole hull length, this is done to ensure you have enough height.... .. From the little I can see it looks as if you are doing fine.... .. Not all planks are identical, there are some minor variations in width and more of course with tapering, sanding and bevelling. This would probably explain why yours is slightly different to the mag and other builds, mine was too... Hope it helps... Regards Alan

Hi Del I wouldn't worry too much mate.I would just glue another plank on top to get above the level of the stern. All that matters is that you have planked sufficiently high enough to be able cut the profile given in the instructions. If anything it is always better to have too much rather than too little.I find when you sand the hull, the top edge can get rounded a little,so if you have plenty of spare this doesn't matter because it will be cut off. Kind Regards Nigel

yup mine wasn't perfect to the magazine but it doesn't matter much, just think of it as an outer shell that will be planked over Processing - Progressing

Will carry on upwards and then do side two. That`s why I asked now, before I topped out on second side and ended up with double trouble. Thanks for looking in and your time taken to assist. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"
