I'm starting the build today and I'm wondering about the ABS adhesive.....
Where do I get it, and is thick cyano (thick Superglue) not suitable for these assembly stages?

I used Carr's Butanone and Superglue gel.

Some have been using Evo-Stik pipe weld which is a tube ABS glue availble from DIY outlets such as B&Q, though it is prone to string.
Be very careful with the application of any ABS glue as it strips paint with ease and eats into plastic

Hi Roy, I know what you mean. Choosing the right glue is very important at the start & can mean the difference between an easy build & a real nightmare. I tried a few different glues & i wasn't happy untill i asked for advice on this forum. Someone suggested Wilkinsons hard plastic glue (the green tube with Wilko on it). It's brilliant. Made my whole build so much easier. It bonds in about 10-20 seconds, so enough time to get each piece in position. It also doesn't leave vapour marks (blooming) on nearby surfaces. It only works with plastics so you'll need some other glue for the metal parts.Hope this helps. Stuart

Hi, I apologize if I'm beating a dead horse with this question, but can someone please show me where I can buy Wilkinsons hard plastic glue? I live in the US and we don't have this chain, and when I went to wilko.com I couldn't find it. I'm willing to pay what I imagine would be a hefty shipping fee as I've already invested a lot into buying this kit. Thank you for any help you might be able to offer.

Hi Fudnickt, The "ABS" glue I am using, and with outstanding results, is TENAX7R. Sprue Brothers carries it. I am using it in conjunction with a "Touch and Flow" applicator, which is essentially a glass tube with an extremelythin bit of hypodermic needle that the liquid cement flows out of. It is absolutely amazing how effective it, and the degree of absolute control you have. This is also available from SB. Since you are one of the few, and proud,(US builders)could I sweet talk you into posting a couple of pictures of your build? I hope you find the above info to be of help. I think most of us feel that the only "dumb" question is one that is not asked. The forums are here for the dispersal of information.
