A few more planks fitted. ive run out of blades so wont be cutting any more on the second row of gun ports till i can get my hands on some more.

ive pinned a length of black box wood as a guide to the paint line, i intend to use this to shape and fit the top planks in sapele before carrying on with the black boxwood. I must admit i cant wait to move away from the sapele as its so fragile to work with. BigGrin BigGrin

Absolutely stunning planking work StuBigGrin BigGrin .If I may make a suggestion.Rather than use the black boxwood for a template you may be better with something a little stouter similar to what you used for the gunports. If you look at the port side there is a ripple in the boxwood midships back.Because its so fragile its awkward to get a flowing curve. If you pinned something thicker above the first boxwood plank and then glued the first black boxwood plank in place you will be able to fill in with tapered sapele without fear of the boxwood moving.I hope this makes sense.
Kind Regards Nigel

Thanks Nigel.
Your suggestion makes perfect sense. and your right, i think im best fixing the box wood first and then filling in the gap.
Thanks again
