Well today continued work as per issue 37, finished trimming up the second planking on the starboard side, cut the gun ports and finished treenailing... Also finished marking out the port side and completed the upper planking.... .. Tomorrow hope to finish treenailing the port side, trim up, cut the gun ports out and then give it a sanding... that will be the end of issue 37.... Can finally see light at the end of the tunnel with treenailing, only have the port side to do plus the few sapele planks on the stern.... .. Getting very close to masking off and painting the black top and red strip.... now that will be something different for a change.... Regards Alan

Gosh Alan, that is a very gutsy way of tackling it.I would probably have chased a slot out of the keel with the dremel and fitted a narrower wood insert covered in epoxy then nipped it up with clamps.I hope you manage to sort it,like you say no problems only solutions. Kind Regards Nigel

Kind Regards Nigel Thanks Nigel and I had thought about your solution but thought it would still look unbalanced by being too thick on one side.... Perhaps it was a gutsy way of tackling it but thankfully it appears to have worked out nicely as you will see by the posts below.... ..Another solution found... .. Think when I finally frame this build I will also enclose a polished cocktail stick as a momento..... Regards Alan
