Started on the launch today.  When unpacking I realised how small it is!  . Better be working very carefully!  Kobus

Hi Kobus, the launch is small and be especially careful with those ribs, they are very delicate....  .. She really is fun to build though.... Regards Alan

Finished with the four issues, 8 - 11, I received. Completed the launch and cut it loose from it's support block.      Now have to wait for the next delivery before I can continue!  Happy building to all! Regards Kobus

Finally got some wood that I can use for my build. Although it is still 75 mm (3") wide it is only about 3 mm (1/8") thick and I can cut it into planks of 4 - 5 mm.  And I got myself a Dremel, as I cannot wait or rely on Jacklin, for the 'free' gifts they promised.  Still haven't recieved any of the advertised gifts.  Regards Kobus

Nice work Kobus  .Whilst the free drill is good for the smaller jobs,you will find the dremel has plenty of umpf for continuous work.I have had mine 14yrs,and as you Know from my build,it hasn't had an easy life.Nice find with the timber,cherry especially as this looks beautiful when used on a model. Hi Kobus, That`s coming on nicely and as for the Dremel it`s a great tool. I have purchased the same one but with the extra accessories, just in case they were needed later on. If you intend to use the supplied bamboo for your first planking, then you will get a lot of use with it. Having marked out my cannon and entry ports, I used a small round end reamer to remove most of the bamboo from the ports, but be careful as it has a tendency to try and skip across the surface. Regards Hi Kobus I know the one you mean,but it is designed for cutting ceramic tiles.I bought one for doing that job,for which it is brilliant,but tried it on wood and it is a little to fine and tends to burn the wood.You may find a spiral cutter that is intended for use with the rotazip cutter.I stick to the normal wood milling cutters. Hi Kobus, think you will find the dremel will become your trusted friend but would suggest you practice a little with the various attachments before using it on your build..... Just for info, this is the bit I used with the dremel to cut out the gun ports on the bamboo.. Just make sure you keep a good hold of it as it has a tendency to want to skip across your work..... .. hi Kobus I had the same idea as martin, but dont throw it away. i used mine to try out the second plank caulking and also cutting the sapele needs a try before going into the main ship. keep the photos coming. Cheers Stu
