The FIA has banned media and 'non-essential personnel' from Grand Prix pit lanes after a cameraman was injured at last Sunday's German Grand Prix.

Cameramen will only be allowed to film from the pit lane wall.

The FIA also announced that it will seek an immediate change to regulations so that all team personnel working on cars during pit stops wear head protection, and that the speed limit in the pits is reduced from 100kmh to 80kmh.

About time too.....seen so many cameramen having to be pulled or pushed out of the way over the years it was only a matter of time before something nasty happened...this one got off lightly.

Dunno about lightly. He copped an AWOL wheel in the back which knocked him flat on his face. Glad to hear they are making changes for the better.

Considering what could have happened ...he got off lightly, could have snapped his spine, crushed his skull or even killed him.

I agree, it could have been worse for the poor fella. I'm sure he is pretty sore and sorry for himself none the less.
