Seconded by all on the forum I should think!

Your best (and safest) route for lighting is to use a string of LEDs for the yellow glow effect. There are quite a few on the forum who have gone down this route, try LED or lighting in the search and you should be able to get loads of hints and tips. I didn't go for lighting and I've regretted it ever since!

Best of luck out there.

Found some nice leds that would give a nice glow now cheers, been looking at pictures over the past months and im proper excited to get started. This is my first build and ive never done anything like this before im starting to think maybe ive jumped into the deep end with this as it looks pretty complicated Crying oh well i wont know until i try. Ill post photos every time i do some more and I've got this forum to guide me along the way.

Oh and thanks for your words of support out here, not long to go until I'm on r and r i might start the build then if the wife will let me after being away for 5 months she might not want me in the garage for hours on end lol.

Anyway I'm off to peruse the net for modelling tools before the missus blows all my hard earned, thanks again guys BigGrin

That's exactly the same as what I thought when I started my victory build but as I started building it became easier and easier.

Hi Phil,

Don't feel overwhelmed. Just take it small steps at a time and it will all come together just fine.

Regarding the lighting. As already mentioned, I concur that LED's are the rout to go. I'm not sure what you have available in your neck of the woods, but I have bought LED strips. There are 3 LED's mounted on a strip that has double sided tape on the underside. In South Africa they are available from specialist lighting suppliers - ask for under counter lights.
They are easily assembled, only two wires need to be soldered and you can daisy-chain them together. There are no electronic skills required.
My power supply is a transformer that plugs into any wall socket. It has a variable output of 3V-12V.
If you wish, I can post a photo on your blog.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Garth
