so quick question are dremell's really worth the money for wood modeling, or would a cheaper alternative do the job? something like the silverside(i think thats what its called) do just as well...? Thoughts appreciated...

You tend to get what you pay for, but it comes down to budget and how much you want to spend.
There are lots of cheap alternatives on the market that will do much the same job, but if you want quality then you wont go far wrong with a Dremel or Proxxon, which are supported by a huge range of accessories and built to last.

fair enough its like most things really. and to be honest there isn't that much of a price diference between the dremell 3000 and the others i'll go with that then
