617 Squadron — aka the Dambusters — has been chosen to pilot the Lightning II joint strike fighter.

Great to hear and especially so as it will mean that 617 Sqdn will now be isolated from the defence cuts? If we lost THAT squadron, the RAF would never be the same again!
Would be cool if, when they got the new Lightning II, the Sqdn Leaders' name was Gibson!!
