Hi all,
I received my tool kit today. The Archimedean drill that came with the kit is bent though. Has any one else got the same problem?
Also why do De Agostini not provide us with more than one size drill bit?
Any advice would be welcome.

Yes my drill is also bent. Not going to make any fuss about it though as I think what we have is really good. All this modelling equipment would set you back a few pounds in the shops. Dave.

Admin, there is a problem with Archimedean drill in the tool kit, the drill is bent, also in my kit the knife will not assemble the thread has gone on the chuck. I do not want to cause a fuss, but you may want to get onto your supplier ref their quality control Cheers MWG MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Am i being too cynical but do people really believe the tools etc are "freebies" and the cost is not absorbed in mag price etc

I ain't checked mine yet as still away at work I'll be sending mine back if there's anything wrong as I'm relying on these tools being able to do the work there supposed to do and I agree with Budgie about the costs.

Had a phone call today from customer services asking me to send my drill back to them. Seems to be a problem with the production of these items, not DeAgostini's fault. Told a replacement will be sent out. Nice to see they are on the ball and take notice of what people write on this forum. Thank you DeAgostini Dave.

Hi If you have a damaged drill, can you let customer services know from the Ask a Question section here so that log the requests, and send out a replacement. Select ' HMS Victory' from the ' Magazine Title', not 'Model Space'. Thanks Admin

Hi Shipwrights, My Archimedean drill will not grip the drills without being tightened by pliers Archimedes was better than this, I think we may have been Archimedean screwed. Some of you seem to have been shafted Verdict? Cheap and nasty, and not sure how the collate's grip could be improved Is this common to all the straight ones? Would returning it achieve anything? So nil point on the so called "gifts" (Price included items) to date. Starting to wonder if this subscription is worth it. I hope we shall not end up having to press-gang a decent crew as well. Sorry Admin not your fault unless you personally sourced these inclusive items. Will post you when I know from the Shipmates if this is a fault peculiar to my tool or just inadequate design. The case is nice and is probably the most costly bit of the tool kit. Pity we can't use the case to build the Victory, it's even a bit small to store the parts.

I agree with you there Tarbrush!!!
I asked if we could upgrade to the 'Premium Toolkit', but was told that we couldn't.
I'm beginning to wonder if it would have been better to have received a discount on the items in their on-line shop rather than these poor quality items as 'freebies'.
At least then we could have spent the money on things we actually wanted!!!
Rant over now...apologies to all....mmmph.

Hi Capt B, I don't want to discuss our options in public, that will need to be done with DeAgostini and them with their suppliers, but safe to say we do have options particularly if we are all of the same mind. No threat intended to Admin, who are probably as fed up as we are.
