Hi, shipmates! Some time has passed and although I was distracted by other things I could spend some time with my ship. I assembled the stern laterns and glued them into position  Then I added the foresail, following exactly the instructions of the kit (cause I don't know any better).     The following view of the platform will soon be blocked by the fore topsail  Next, I fitted the mizzen sail  My self-made mizzen sail turned out to be too small. There is a huge gap between it's front edge and the mast:  I'm not quite happy with this. Indeed, I noticed, that after my treatment (sewing seams, attaching leechlines and reef-bands, dyeing with tea, etc.) my self-made sail has shrunk by about one centimeter (compared to the sail that I received with the kit and from which I took the measurements). But even that additional centimeter wouldn't make the gap much smaller. Does that mean that the mizzen sail of the kit is too short? I am not sure if I made a big mistake and if I should make the sail again? Anyway, the gap could not be closed completely - because of the catharpins there must be a gap of at least one and a half centimeters. Considering this, I think I can live with this gap. Hi Bernd. That's really looking spectacular! With regards to the Mizzen sail, rather than having to make a whole new sail, could you alter/re do the running rigging supporting the upper boom from which the sail hangs? If the rigging was lengthened slightly the boom would drop down and the sail could then reach the lower boom taking away the gap. Might be still a lot of work but just an idea! With all the rigging in the way it gets increasingly difficult to tie the knots  It took me a week or so to complete the foremast    It's pure chaos on the main mast.
