Am I the only one? My McLaren was only completed a matter of weeks ago and already the tyre markings have gone a pinkish-brown. The car is nowhere near sunlight. Hopefully they aren't going to get worse - and no, I don't want to have to buy the F'artifice tyre decals at £20!

Yellowing/pinking of decals is caused by oxidation.. Ie poor air quality.. not saying your keeping it anywhere near a poor air supply but many things like air freshners, polish and cleaners can be atracted to the surface. Mines in it's case and the tyres are as good as the day I put them on.. the numerous ones I have spare (no rear's) are all ok too. I know this might not help but take them off and give a clean with a non abbrasive cloth in a little soapy water to see if that helps..

Thanks for that but no difference. In my completed build thread there are pics of where the car sits - on a shelf away from the sun etc. I've noticed that ONE rear tyre has remained white(?) I turn the car around frequently so I can't fathom it out. I think it's going to get boxed away until I find a really good home for it.

Any UV lighting could also turn things pink if you have that anywhere in the room... I noticed your pictures on the wall..are they turning pink? Possibly the laptop monitor giving off something? Polish on the surface of the shelf? Vineer wood is coloured, could it be that? So many things Roy but if the dish wash didn't work then I tiny bit of diluted bleach. I'll try to see if i can recreate the problem and see what it might be... I'm guessing you don't smoke? And not in the house/room? Did you coat the tyres with anything apart from what was supplied by DeAg? Is it the white paint strip you have done reacting? I.e Enamel White? Loads of things I know mate

Hi Roy I left 4 tyres dotted around the house for a couple of days and the only one where the lettering turned pink came into contact with direct sunlight at some point during the day.. I used some undiluted thick bleech and after leaving it on there for about 20 seconds then a wash under the tap all was back to white.. Hope this helps Spence
