Looking real cool Claret, well done, she's taking shape now.
As Rob says there seems to be an epidemic doing its rounds. Darn fine idea anyhow!

Hi,

I finished the secondary planking, treenailing and finished it off with a sanding down with P240 sandpaper.

The model was now ready for painting.

Hi,

Just finished the black painting on the top part of the hull. I have tried airbrushing for the first time, and quite pleased with the result.

I measured and masked the area to be painted. I used Tamiya masking tape. By far more superior than 'normal' DIY masking tape.

The paint Wilko's matt Black and is very matt and has given a nice matt finish. result is below.

Thanks for looking in.

Hi All,

Update on my progress over the weekend.

Glued the bow sprite and keel into place.

Masked off and painted the red band using Admiralty Red Ochre with an airbrush. I also painted the canon port surrounds at the same time.

Now contemplating whether to invest in a compressor for the airbrush rather than using tins. Not sure what to get though!

Thanks for looking in.

Regards

Hi Dominic,

Thanks for the comments and looking in.

The admiralty paint airbrushed okay.

I used water to thin it and gave it a few coats because of the contrast with the basswood and sapele.

Very nice paint job Claret, well done to you... Cool Cool .. Think you would find investing in a compressor would save you money in the long run with not having to shelve out on cans of compressed air.... BigGrin BigGrin
