Tomick Hope all is well with you. See you have started to gold paint some of the parts and was wondering please if you would mind sharing your preferred choice of gold paint. Kind regards Tony Happy Modelling

Mr T Many thanks for the information - very much appreciated. Always found the ThecTamiya matt black exactly that on my plastic kits. Been finding the admiralty paints dull black is still rather "shiny" Kind regards Tony Happy Modelling

Hi Benny For Gold, what I generaly do is undercoat the metal with your usual grey undercoat then a coat of bright red and after coat with Gold paint. Hope this helps Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

And then some gold leaf on top!

You can dull down the black paint after with a coat of Matt varnish and this will also help hide any brush marks. As for gold it depends on how bright you want it. I do first coat white if I want a subtle gold, I have also used yellow but for a vibrant gold I have in the past used chrome, silver or aluminium. Best thing is to try some combinations and see what finish you like best. J “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Isn't the TS-21 spray paint?
I would have thought that would be pretty tricky to use on such intricate parts.
Is there an equivalent in pot form?

Sorry, I'm a total noob on this as you are well aware.
With the smaller parts (window castings), is it just a case of spraying the whole thing with primer, then gold and then handpainting the black infills after?

Correct, or you can brush paint if you feel more comfortable with this route.
