I thought that I was done with the rigging ...
But there are some unused blocks, double blocks, belaye pins, etc...
Did I miss something?

Bernd

Hi Bernd.

I've had a good look through my reference books and I don't think you need to worry too much. There are plenty of spare or unused blocks around the spars and chains, I don't know what most of them are used for but the ones on the spars are probably for the extra studding sails etc. or even the pulleys used to raise and lower the ships boats over the sides. There are also different ways of rigging the main sails in position too, some of which use different blocks. Since there are these extra blocks and pulleys there would also have to be extra or spare belaying pin positions to secure those extra ropes to!
Like I said, I wouldn't worry too much, with some more research some of them might turn out to be useful, others are simply spares!

Best Wishes

Hi!
Somehow I managed to create a new thread - but this was not my intention, sorry. I will continue in my original build diary...

Cheers, Bernd
