This is my first build diary of the Amati 1/200 Bismarck I collected this model over a 3 year period through the Hatchette partworks, being a novice modeller, I put off starting this model for some time. My modelling experience up until this point had been plastic kits, just built out of the box and hand painted. The Amati kit at the time was probaly the best out there if not the only one, however there has been a recent 1/200 Bismarck plastic kit from Trumpeter brought to the market along with various after market photo etch and resin upgrades. With my reluctance to start plus finding free time because of my job I believe this has worked in my favour because i can now enhance the Amati kit even further with all the extra upgrades now available, because i have not progressed too far with the build. However i did start the model towards the end of 2008 up until mid 2009, then only working on it ocasionally until this present time. I will upload a batch of photos every so often to the forum until the current state. Current Builds: Amati 1/200 Bismarck, Airfoil 1/600 HMS Nelson
To Build: Amati 1/200 HMS Hood, Amati 1/250 Titanic, Artesania Latina 1/48 HMS Surprise, Artesania Latina 1/50 Scottish Maid, DeAgostini 1/84 Sovereign of the Seas

Regards Alan Hi Alan, Thanks, I found having all the parts and build guide stored up let me decide on the best order to build the model because sometimes if you build it as you get the parts its not always the best order to do it. I'm also collecting the Hood and I think its going to be best to start it once i've got all the parts, plus I don't have the time to start it at the moment!
