I am in search of micro drill bits: 0.3mm and 0.5mm Please: Can anyone direct me where in Cape Town area its available.. I am tired of bending pins and pulling them from fingers. An idea from the UK forum - one of our members, Karl, suggests using pins.
Provided that you have a pin vice or similar holder to put it in, just cut the end off a dressmaker's pin or a needle. The cut end is rough enough to act as a drill bit. Cheap and easy. Different pins/needles give different gauges.
The little drill bits tend to break very easily, so if you do end up ordering some from a model supplies site, order a fair amount!

Hi Marcel I would suggest that you have a look at Jeffrey Stein's website, http://www.jeffreystein.co.za/, he is a wholesaler, but have a dealer locator, from where you can search a hobby store in your area. I'll sent her on a shopping spree while I sneak into her workshop... hehehe I recently bought a Nail pusher, but its difficult to accurate place the nails. This idea is superb. Marcel, I got .3 and .5 bits on amazon.co.uk. They deliver here and I think it worked out to around R80 for 10 Current Build:

Galley pumps?I have noticed that the models does not include galley pumps which is an essential part of any ship. If there are models been issued with it, please post a link for us to get an idea what to expect if we want to build it ourselves. I would loike to inclide a pump on my build.
