By way of an update, (and an excuse to take a breather from my labours), I took the following pic of my workstation to let those who have ordered a tool see that I am dutifully beavering away.. On a more serious note, I am awaiting the arrival of my order for kneadatite (which I ordered on Thursday)- as this is part of a lot of your orders, it, not the tools is the only thing that may delay the dispatch (by a day at most - I have a contingency plan) as I have already made most of the first batch of tools and these will be sent out as soon as I have received the cheques (or postal orders), some of which arrived in the post yesterday - so I shall be sending acknowledgments out to those of you who's payment has already arrived, later today. Guarantee Pt 2 In case the tool is not up to your expectations, I shall refrain from cashing any cheques/postal orders for a week after you confirm that you have received the tool and will return your payment to you (upon return of the tool, naturally), if you are not happy with it. After having quiet palpitations at the lack of GS delivery in this mornings post, it finally arrived this afternoon.. only instead of getting rolls of the stuff (as advertised), I got small strips.. Which, seeing as most of you seem to want GS supplied with your tools, caused me a certain consternation. Anyhoo; The good news is that what I did receive was sufficient to meet all the orders that have arrived through my letterbox already and I was able to post them off this afternoon. More notes; Please be sparing with the GS, there is (really!) enough for a good 30 - 40 cannon so, if you want to try it out on your cannon and carronade, just slice off a small corner, of roughly equal amounts from each colour, knead it, squeeze it and roll it together until it goes uniformly green before applying it and pop the unused GS back into the small bag. the best place to store it is the fridge or somewhere nice and cool. I honestly would have liked to have been more generous with it, allowing you plenty to play around with (it's good for a lot of uses) - but owing to the problem mentioned at the start of this post, I was forced to choose between delaying the sending of your tools or getting them out to you as soon as possible, albeit with a 'sufficient' amount + only a wee bit of extra 'practice material' As a rough guide, cut-off a couple of mm from each corner of the strip for both the cannon and carronade. Great stuff! (especially as I only posted them yesterday!) Thanks for your feedback! Do let me know how you find using them! If you've not used it before, the GS may seem a bit strange or feel funny (it does take a bit of getting ones head around) - if you find it a bit too firm, try running a hairdryer over your mixed bit (not for too long mind) as this will soften it and make it stickier, give it a few moments to settle down and then use the stamp. Don't forget to lube the surface with Vaseline (or spit) first - you don't want the freshly mixed GS to stick to the detailed face of the stamp If this happens (unlikely, but still..) - don't worry, just post it back to me and I'll pop a new face on it for you, free of charge*. EDIT: *within the two year build period anyway... (thanks to Captain Birdseye for noticing my potentially overgenerous guarantee against user malfunction) Schnellboots on back burner

Hi Capt Stedders, that green stuff mate, any good for modelling, can you make small figures out of it, I have never used it before and while I am restoring my Cutty Sark build I want to add Nannie the Cutty Sark figurehead to the model, as it was sadly missing from the parts that came with the build? your very valuable advice would be really appreciated mate, thanks... Current Builds: Deagostini HMS Victory: Deagostini HMS Sovereign of the seas. Completed Builds: Del Prado: HMAS Bounty: Hachette: RMS Titanic: Del Prado: Cutty Sark...

Oh yes. Most miniature sculptors use it for making masters before getting them cast in metal or resin. The knack, especially when beginning is to mix and add small bits of GS, a small bit at a time, sculpting and polishing each bit into shape before adding more - as your confidence grows, so the amount you can work with in one sitting will increase. - You'll need a decent set of sculpting tools though and I recommend setting out with a small set of carvers (see link below - the set of three carvers at the bottom of the page should be a good foundation) you can always try to blag a tool or two from your dentist as well. http://www.hobbytools-di...Carvers___Spatulas.html Schnellboots on back burner
