I am not having a good day, here is the explanation that was to go with the pictures. My Mods so far trying to copy De Velde's and Payne's artwork, Increased the Foredeck height 4mm fore 8mm aft. Curved the forward Bulkhead. Moved the Bow Spirt to starboard. Raised the grating deck 6mm. Increased the Poop deck 2mm fore 7mm aft. Adjusted the canon port spacing and reshaped the entry port. Reduced the SternCastle overhang and Galleries 10mm. Raised the counter brackets to start between the lower and middle gun decks. Moved the Transom aft 10mm. Added the middle and lower stern chasers. Hull was given a second layer of planking of 6X2mm Walnut. The dry fitted Stern Castle planking supports was removed and the missing parts of the decks made for fitting as I progress up the hull.

while working at the stern I noticed that I would not have room for upper deck stern chasers due to all the bits and bobs of the stern construction. The only thing I could do is rip it all out. SandyM attached the following image(s):

Kind Regards Nigel Hi Nigel, I agree they are very nice, I have decided on the 40mm (barrel 37mm) for the middle deck. I think the 50mm ( barrel 45mm ) is to heavy for the lower deck even on a smaller truck there for I am extending the 37mm barrels for main battery in the lower deck. Sandy

Sandy Hi Sandy The scale length of the 20 biggest cannons on the lower deck works out at 42mm long.I am not sure wether to go mad with internal detail as I have no intention of lighting. The biggest draw is the fact of the full barrel and that you will see the end of the carriage in the port.Struggling to find a true poundage for the largest guns, some sources claim as much as 60lb. Kind Regards Nigel

Hi Nigel, Yes I had thought of that ( my canon experiments) my solution was using the same trucks but extending the barrels this would cause the barrels to be off balance so I decided to drill out the barrels to the correct bore and make that end lighter. Not true scale I agree but the visual effect I think will match the artwork, I hope. Sandy
