Yes all the etch does make a difference, although I maintain this is a stunning kit without the upgrades. “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

I do use an etchmate tool and other things I have a tool makers mini vice which is ideal for nice crisp 90 degree bends, forming curves is the most challenging part, there are tools for that but to be honest I think there over priced so ha e not invested. Maybe I will add working with etch to my model making know how articles. J “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Nice Etch work Jase. A tutorial on Etch handling would be great. Some of the Etch coming onto the market is, as you know, absolutely stunning, but very intimidating for the inexperienced. Plus the instructions that come with a lot of PE leave much to be desired.

Hi Jase Looks like I have started something here A know how on working with etch would be fantastic!!!!!!!I do put builds aside when patience is stretched, but the SOTS has seemed to really get to me like no other and whilst the drive is flowing like mad,I run with it.Dora will appear on the forum at some point but she is in the loft for the time being. The box weighs in at about 40kg so it was a nightmare to get up there.I will bring her down when ready to continue. Kind Regards Nigel

hi I seen in you post about your etch ,to get round corners have you tried using a pencil rubber the square type by laying the etch piece on it and pressing down on it with around bar, drill ect.
