Hi There, may I suggest a couple of new models. One of the main engines from the Graf Spee. This was an eight cylinder double acting two stroke diesel. A highly complex piece of machinery. MAN still have drawings and photos available. I know this from research I did for a military magazine a few years ago.
Another project could be the Blohm und Voss BV141 aircraft. This is an asymmetric observation aircraft, with the engine on the fuselage and the cockpit on the stbd wing.

 Hi Tony Both of those would be of interest but with all parts works its mass market appeal that will get it off the shelves, so an engine build could be say of the Merlin or griffon engines or a working [By electric motor] of say a triple expansion steam engine used in the Titanic for example. I personaly would love to see an ME 163 build like the Zero but as its appeal is limited ,even though the Japanese had a version of it and the Me263 I don't think it will become apart work any time soon regards Andy  Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi Andy, thanks for the reply. The problem as I see it with a merlin, ( beautiful noise), is where do you hide the motor? With a marine diesel all you have to do is close off the crankcase in a couple of cylinders. As for the BV141 it may arouse interest because of its unusual shape. There is film in existence of it in flight

Hi Andy, you may just have hit a point. I am currently Scratch building a Mississippi stern wheeler, which I hope will entertain some model builders. If DeAg won't do a BV 141, then what the heck, I will get the drawings,(if possible) and do it myself!

Hi Andy, Your idea of a Titanic engine could be a winner. Just one small problem, the port and starboard engines were steam reciprocating, but the centre shaft was driven by a Bauer Wach (spelling?) LP steam turbine. This was an ahead only driver, and was only utilized when the ship was at sea, and not manoevring. The engine rooms would make a fascinating model on their own. If you want more detail, I am only too pleased to help. Hot fog is dangerous but it is also very interesting.

Hi Andy, I have done a bit of research, a part work of the whole engine room would be feasible, as it was one open space, from the boiler room bulkhead to the aft bulkhead. Both reciprocating engines and the LP turbine could be modelled, along with the condensers and air pumps. The air pumps are used to create a vacuum in the condensers (up to 27"hg) in cool sea temperatures. This greatly improves the efficiency of the turbine ( up to 16000hp ). The reciprocating engines are 4 cylinder triple expansion, the cylinder layout from fwd is, LP,HP, IP, LP. If you google 'titanic main engines', there is quite a lot of information there.

Hi Andy,
My BV141 plans and parts arrived today, bit annoyed that HMRC nailed me for £6.09 VAT, this on a $31.50 cost??? The laser cut parts are balsa, I am thinking, maybe a coat of varnish to strengthen them once separated from the sheet (other ideas welcome). All being well, I will post a photo or two here over the weekend.

Hi Tony interesting, maybe a coat of laminating epoxy using 1oz nylon would impar more strength or you could recast the parts in resin/plastic using the wooden parts as mould masters just some thoughts regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

hi tony,another way of strengthening the formers is to dope on tissue paper,not as strong as nylon but lighter,also stop wood splitting when cutting out.interesting subject though.are you intending to fly? r/c? or co2 and finally rubber powered? Hello Karl,
I don't intend to build it as a flying model, the plan is for a rubber powered model. My intention is to skin it with 0.3mm or 0.5mm strip, and dope tissue paper over that to hide any obvious joins in the wood; then paint over that. The landing gear will be more robust than the bent wire shown on the drawing, with something resembling the hydraulic retraction kit. I hope to make something that looks like a 9 cylinder radial to stick under the cowling.

Hello Andy,
It will be a while before I start it. I have another two issues to complete the Victory, I hope to do the cut away in the new year. I have six issues of the cross section, which will be a (probably late) Christmas gift for some friends in America. There is of course the ongoing saga of the sternwheeler. Get the Victory cross section out of the way, and I will probably make a start on the BV141.
