Anyway, i started taking apart the first Shock, and magically i had more parts then what i started with, well at least i cant remember putting them in there. Theres two orange rubber washers and a black star shaped ring that were on the shaft.... am i going nuts???

The star shaped ring sounds like the C clips. You should have two in each shock, one above the piston and the other below it. The 2 rubber rings go in the bottom of the shock case around where the shaft goes through to seal the shock and prevent the oil leaking out

Its not broken, it just needs to be put together agaain. Can u describe the star ring thing a bit more, i thought it was a clip for the shock piston, but maybe its to hold the rubber rings in the bottom of the shock. Issues 26 has more detail on assembling the shocks 'cuz in issue 4 the piston and shaft came assembled. Dylan's issue 26 video http://youtu.be/U9VdIsHuics

Its the black star clip as pictured above plus some thick rubber orange o rings.

Looks like i am up for another issue 4 or 26! yeah its strange, as is said before i had two issue 26's with one star ring and i had four issue 4's with no star rings and none of them had orange rings, i tried looking on our issue 20 exploded poster and couldn't find the star ring anywhere? Could u upload a photo of the Orange rings? They could be O-Rings, which could be found in numerous issues

No star ring or O ring is provided as loose parts within the parts content of issue 4 or 26, hence why these are not shown within the build instructions or the exploded view diagram.
However, within the shock absorber body, these are pre-fitted, the start ring secures the O ring in place, the O ring prevents oil leakage.
If you look down the end of the shock body, and you should notice a star ring at the very end, then if you hold the shock body at an angle and look into its outside end, you'll notice the orange O ring.
The way to determine if the star ring and O ring are not in place is that the shock absorber shaft will have a loose fit, and when the shock body is filled with oil, it will leak out at the exit point of the shock shaft.
SWINE1,
It would appear that in disassembling your shocks, the star ring has dislodged which has released the O ring, or that the ring was not properly secured during the assembly process at the factory.
Place the O ring into the shock body, seat it within its groove at the very end of the body, then refit the star ring, by pushing it on top of the O ring to clip it into place.
If any of the teeth of the star ring are damaged, or its seating within the shock body is damaged, you will need to replace the star ring/shock body, as it wont be possible to secure the star ring in place.
Any of you that have found a star ring within in the parts content, should check that it has not fallen from the shock body at the factory assembly stage. If the star ring won't clip in place, then request a replacement parts set for issue 4 or 26

One would assume that once this clip has let go it will never ever fit again correctly??

The teeth on the clip look fine, there can't be any harm in trying to put it back into the bottom of the shock

OK, i will give it a shot... so i assume that both o rings go in first, then push the star clamp in then rotate to lock it in yeh?? Which way does the star clamp go in, concurve up or down looking into the shocky??

Yep put the o rings in first, concave down, so put it in from the top like this \_|_/ if u were looking at the star ring side on. I pulled the tip off the shock oil bottle and poured the oil back in, so no oil wasted
