I have a big order for you of bamboo twisting and bending.BigGrin

It looks great. While you do mine, I'll go fishing.

I found that using a glass filled with boiling water makes a cheap former that works quick. I steam the plank in the kettle for 20 seconds and then bend it around the hot glass. The heat of the glass prevents the fast cooling of the steam in the bamboo.

Welcome back, Kobus. The whales are a pretty sight to view. So is your planking, well done. I found by removing the laser ash, the glue bonds stronger with the hull.
Keep filling those empty spaces..

!! Update !!

Hi all

At last something to report on again!

Completed the first ten (10) rows of the planking and cut it flush at the stern. Happy with the outcome!LOL

Used my trusted Dremel with a cut-off wheel 420 to cut off the access and then a sanding barrel to sand down till flush! Must say, I enjoyed the Dremel with the flexable shaft, makes life so much easier!

Whilst busy removing the excess glue, which I used to glue the bamboo planks together, with a Stanley knife blade I noticed that I'm actually shaving the planks even!

A few moves over the planks, with the blade perpendicular to the planks and at a slight angle across the planks tend to do a fine job without much of an effort!

Very neat planking KobusCool Cool Using the blade like that is the same as using a cabinet scraper.I use those regularly, you get a flat surface instead of rounding it like you can with sanding. The stanley blade is a good way of smoothing areas in corners where you can't get in with sandpaper.
Kind Regards Nigel
