In issue 42, step 1, it says to use bamboo strips that came with issue 40, but they were used up doing the gunwales, also at step 13 it says to use the same strips from issue 40 to plank around parts 68 and 69.

Should we be using the strips of wood that came with issue 38, as I cant find any mention of where we are meant to use them.

Don't use the strips from 38 as they are basswood 1x3mm strips rather than bamboo 2x5mm strips.

You should have some 2x5mm bamboo strips left over from the hull planking and can use these.

I'm currently about to commence the gun port linings Mr T. The instructions tell me to use the basswood strips from Issue 39 but they seem too large, should it read the basswood strips from issue 38 as they appear to be a better gauge for the job.

No, that's correct Mike. Use the 1.5 x 5mm Birchwood Strips from Issue 39. They do look big and are quite fiddly as they protrude backwards into the Hull with only a thin support at the front. I've just finished mine, so enjoyLOL LOL
