when I saw the method for cladding the quarterdeck and smoothing and painting after fitting "issue 46" I thought it a bit tricky not to damage the surrounding area. So what I did was, with a glass jar of similar curvature stuck masking tape around the bottom of this sticky side out and stuck the bamboo stripes precut round the tape/jar, then I could smooth and paint them. When paint was dry go round this with more tape, cut tape to remove cladding in sections, take of inner tape. Glue in place so no damage to decking, and remove tape. In hindsight I would use stronger tape on the inside.

I used sheets of veneer instead - no pre-bending and no sanding - much easier than the supplied instructions and a nicer finish. You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

I agree the method suggested seems very awkward, I plan to use 0.4mm Ply and face with Black Boxwood.

Have to say I did find it rather awkward but with a little bit of care it can be done to a nice standard... Look forward to seeing all the diffent ways other modellers will tackle this issue.... Regards Alan
