You have done a top job of the gold decoration, it certainly brings out the opulence of the ship.Cool

Excellent paintwork Alan, that looks spot onCool Cool Cool Cool I think you may feel a bit like a kid in a sweet shop when you start assembling all the pieces on to the modelBigGrin BigGrin .That said piece is actually not that far down my schedule of works surprisingly,as my opinion of how it appears on the Lely portrait differs from anything I have seen before.More shall be revealed in the not to distant futureFlapper Flapper .

Hi all, well the painting continues on the ornamentation and am happy to say all I have to do now is the last coat of Humbrol clear before fitting all the pieces to the stern... Cool Cool .. While waiting for paint etc to dry continued to work on the ships bell housing... almost finished, just have to fit the bell itself, secure the top to the pillars and give it a coat of satin varnish...Cool Cool .. Will say though my first attempt at the roof section I didn't like, made it far to smooth and thinking how the gold would have looked in those days I decided to roughen up a little and repaint.... much much happier with how it looks now....Cool Cool.. Also decided to add a pelmet to get rid of the rather plain look,,, Cool Cool

Moved onto working on the curved bulkheads on the forecastle... Instructions say to fill, sand down and paint and again didn't like the idea so using .6 x 5mm basewood strips, painted maroon and caulked the edges, decided to start planking these areas... Cool Cool Happy with how it looks so hopefully will finish off tomorrow... Still have to reduce the height slightly but again that will be done later... Cool Cool

Happy building all

Regards

Alan
