Hi All,  Don`t know if this has been mentioned before, or if I have a unique problem.  I am starting the build of the gallery framework and whilst waiting for glue to set on the stern face, I tried a dry fit of some of the side gallery framework pieces and came across the following issue. Parts 52a and 52b, the lowest parts of the gallery frame are not the right shape to fit to the hull shape.  At the foremost end of the parts mentioned they are 2-3mm away from the hull face. Question - do these parts need shaping or have I made the mother of all drop off`s(if the latter I don`t know where). To assist please see attached pics. First pic - face on to hull side with piece showing gap.  Second pic - looking down the hull side.  Any suggestions/recommendations please. Derek Hope all s well. Your further forward than me but I have noticed exactly the same issue with my build. I have checked and double checked and cannot see what has caused this. However I do seem to recall that at the framing stage someone raise an issue that one of the stern frames might need to be built up ( sorry cannot remember who raised that one). Have some ideas how I might get around the issue but not had time to play at the moment. Hope someone can give you a better update Kind regards Tony Happy Modelling

Hi, No mine didn't fit very well either. But with some shaping, a bit of filler and a little brute force, all was well in the end. The key I think is to make sure they fit the side panels reasonably well.

Thanks Guys, Having read your replies I went into measuring mode. It appeared that a minor adjustment to the inboard side of the said parts cured the problem. I think the issue was accentuated by the sapele planking, ie, where the parts went over the sapele the difference would only be 0.5mm, but when that angle was increased by the length of said part the difference increased to 2mm. I don't recall any prob at that stage,but make sure that there no cutting either end,or you'll have probs with the metal fittings,if you can wait until the metal arrives,that would help line up everything. Cheers Karl, Thanks for the info. I have not changed the ends of the said parts, just a small filing job on the spot where the part crosses the edge of the sapele planking. Hi Del, It's my fault,guilty as charged .I posted that the hull required shimming at this point,so if you followed this advice then the gallery part will require slight adjustment.I say slight because on my build the majority of the dip was below the gallery. Kind Regards Nigel

I did shim at the point you mentioned, so the required adjustment to the parts 52a and 52b have only been 1mm max at the point they cross the sapele planking. I do think that there was a minor, may be 1/2mm, inaccuracy in the parts, but as I said before that minor amount was compounded by the angle of the hull where the sapele planking starts. Hi Derek, I too had to a little shaping in order to get things to fit nicely... no adverse problems were encountered but as Karl has said, I didn't alter the length in any ways.... .. Good luck with it... Regards Alan
