Excuse me for being a bit pushy but does anyone know what colour or tint these boxes are supposed to be (they must have some colouring and not left ou natural I thinks)? I would like to colour them before fitting so it will not smudge the decking or balls.Id be greatfull for any feedback on this, many thanks

There are no really set rules for the SOTS (no actual plans or descriptions exist other than vague references) so I'd say either painted black or a dark oak stain (such as Gandale used). But whatever you think looks good is just as authentic as any other (you lucky modeller you!) Hi Jethro, Have seen the cannon ball boxes on an Italian site build log that were made of 3 staples ( I think size 10, with the legs trimmed) painted black and they looked very effective. Just another idea, as previously mentioned there are no hard and fast rules with this one. Go with your best ideas . Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi Jethro, I thought the same as you and decided to simply stain the boxes with a medium oak... happy with how it turned out.... Regards Alan
