Hi!
Now it´s time for a little update to show you the progress. Now the most parts from the first layer are fixed and the 12 guns are prepared. They are not detailled as the guns for other ships. That´s OK for me because it´s a beginners model without any historical background.

Best regards, Bernd

Hi Alan!
Thanks for your kind comment! I hope there will be some more progress soon. The last issues had only a few parts, I think the second layer will be coming next.

Best regards, Bernd

I am always fascinated by the content of a ship. This is the first buils I veiwed with an open hull. Its very interesting and well done.

Greetings,

This is a very cool model. I wish we would get more great products like this here in the USA. I know a lot of Pirate movie fans that would enjoy this.

Hi!
A long time has gone, now a little update. Most of the second layer of the planking is done! It was really hards work, it was the worst material I ever had for this job. It´s Nussbaum (sorry, I don´t know the english wordBigGrin ), 1,3mm thick. I needed a lot of powerglue, nothing else works (I´m sure you know how my fingers look like). Now the ship is painted below the waterline with a dark grey and the work ist going on.
If you remember, there are some sensible parts at the stern. Yesterday evening happend what I´ve been waiting for - I cracked them. OK, everything can be repaired BigGrin

Sorry to hear about your breakages. It looks like MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) to me, it has no flexibility unlike plywood. I always leave these repairs until the last possible moment, otherwise I just break it again the next dayBlushing

Lovely work Bernd on a very interesting and unusual model BerndCool Cool Those rear supports look extremely fragile so it isn't surprising they got damaged.I agree with Andy,it would be wise to leave repairing them until you have to.
Kind Regards Nigel

Hi Steve!
I´m sorry but there is a lot of work with the german Modelspace forum, so I´m a little bit late BigGrin
Now there are some more little steps to do at the Pearl like glueing some side strips. 2 hours ago I started rigging the cannons. I don´t like the style of rigging in the instruction, there all cannons should be fixed directly to the ship without any blocks and no cannon could be loaded! I know, Jack Sparrow is a little bit crazy, but I can´t believe that. I took some spare blocks from the Victory, now the weapons would had been movable.
I know, it´s not an absolut correct rigging, but allmost better than in the instructions.

Regards, Bernd
