I have just received my second batch of parts (5-8) in a padded bag only. In the post all the long parts have been snapped in the post Crying Is this common? Do you know how to get replacement parts ?

Hi Lanerrid,

It is not common but does happen from time to time. If you contact Customer Services and give them the issue number they will replace the parts.

Dont worry about it I have bought a number of subscriptions of wooden models and only ever had broken parts once, you have just been unlucky. Customer service will replace

When I received the first Issue one of the fuselage sides was cracked and there was a big cross gouged in one of the alloy panels, I contacted customer services and it was replaced straight away. Although I must add I do think it could be packed a little more securely, I would imagine a thick cardboard box wouldn't add that much to the overall costings.

Not impressed...pack 3 arrived this morning, the main wing spar is broken into 3 parts. No problem getting them replaced, however it means another (up to) 2 weeks wait.

The packaging is very poor considering the items inside are very easily broken.

Sorry to say I also received part 3 yesterday, 1 broken wing spar, I like the kit but I do honestly think the packaging leaves a lot to be desired, there are a lot of posties out there who don't give a toss and I think all the more reason to be sturdily packaged, surely for the price de-agostini would pay it would be more economical to send in a sturdy cardboard box than have to keep sending out replacements. Not to mention the frustration for those builders who have waited a month to continue and are then disappointed at the further delay, luckily I have been too busy on other things to start yet so I am not one of those, but a couple of points for de-agostini to ponder on.

Hi aviators,
After reading the posts above I can understand your frustration and disappointment when receiving your parts I am sure deagostini will resolve this problem for you.I have receive 3 posts to date and all ok they are all packed in large white bags with bubble wrap inside.
Now I spoke to my postman and told him that I would be receiving a white bag each month when posting would he please fold the bag long way not side ways .
Now do you all think de-ag should put a notice on the bag ( PLEASE DO NOT BEND. THIS BAG SIDE WAYS) and remove Spitfire from the bag,
Just a thought
Regards to all Trev .

Hi Trev,BigGrin

I totally agree with your comments.

I`ve only had a very minor mishap(for want of a better description) which does not need new parts being sent.

I made contact yesterday with Mr T and this issue is already being discussed at Deag.

As you say there are some easy remedies that may improve the situation very easily and very quickly, hopefully a post of the solution may be available from Deag soon.

Regards

Only problem with writing on the bag Trevor is in my opinion half of our postmen cant read English and the other half don't give a s*&^ anyway. I still maintain a cardboard box is the only safe answer and shouldn't be that costly, I for one would be happy to pay an extra £1.00 a month say to avoid all the hassle. Hopefully a good solution can be found and will work. Andy

Hi Billbo,
Yet again you have received parts broken talk about bad luck or is it,if I were you I would go to your sorting office and complain, and explain what has happened and can they investigate? What you really want to know is(do they arrive in one piece from De-agostini)I think they do!
So it is up to them to find out what is happening.
Regards Trev.

Hi Trev and Billbo, think Trev you bring up a very valid point... It is all to easy to blame DeAg and their distributers but I feel sure the distributers would not be sending out defective or broken parts... Think it comes down to how they are handled in transit and some areas are far better than others... I receive a lot of issues through the mail for various builds and as yet haven't received anything that is broken.... Sorting office is certainly a good place to go and have a discussion with and let them come back to you with an explanation.... You may find you simply have a postie that truly doesn't give a *****

Regards

Alan
