Thankyou for the comments! Just a small update - I had to go back to a previous issue to clear up a few bits i left out until the stern was complete. The main job being the 20 gun ports to have lids and doors fitted. These are done at this stage as they will be hard to get to later in the build when the shrouds are in place. I under-estimated the amount of work involved in these but they do take a long time. On to the forcastle timber heads now Steve stevie_o attached the following image(s):

Beautiful finish Steveie. A lovely build could be ruined by poor paintwork, well done.

After tidying up the gun port lids and stern I have now started issue 84 proper as the other jobs were from earlier issues that id set aside. Next up was the forcastle timberheads and rails. The instructions say to drill 3mm holes which are then carved into squares to receive the timberheads, I used the sandwich method instead which is detailed below, so rather than a single 6x2mm strip I used instead a 3mm and a couple of 2mm each side, this then gave 7mm width so i sanded .5mm off each side at the end.The advantage here was that the timberheads were all perfectly in line and there were no oversize holes so kept it all much neater. More later... stevie_o attached the following image(s):

Thankyou Foz, Here are some more pics of whats been done in the last couple of days. Firstly the timberhead rails were added, all pretty much as per instructions except for the build method mentioned in previous post. stevie_o attached the following image(s):
