Doh....I looked there but never thought to look on the individual company pages. Thanks Karl.
BTY what does the mag say the size of that thread is? It's hard to tell from the pictures on the site which one I need.
Thanks again.

Hard to be sure from the images, but it could be 0.75 or 1mm.
You could try here

Thanks Tom. It's the thread we use for most of the small blocks (5mm, 6mm) on the Victory.

Most of it is 0.25mm which appears to be a lot thinner than that shown in your images

Yes I thought it was odd. As I say, sometimes the instructions just say 'Thread' without the size and when I ran short I just picked some from a later issue but that was going to cause me problems later.
Anyway no worries, since I have got the bug now I ordered a selection of sizes and colours from the Cornwall site (thanks Karl). So now I have a stock ready for when I do a scratch build (ha-ha).
Many thanks for you help again, Tom.

Back to the UK and the lady goes into dry dock for a couple of months. Didn’t get much done this time partly because of work and also I wasn’t sure how to move forward so I kept an eye on the forums and waited for inspiration. Initially I followed the instructions and laid a band around the water line (port side first picture) but as I finished laying all the full tiles I decided I didn’t like the look. However, tiling straight down to the waterline such that I get a mice sharp edge, seemed daunting but in the end I bit the bullet and had a go. Before pulling the band of tiles off though, I used a craft knife to carve a line all the way round the ship which gave me a good guide to work to. Anyway it didn’t turn out as bad as I thought it might. Still a lot to repair and it's amazing how the faults stand out once you paint the planks. No probs though, just patiently replace and/or file down until it's looks good. I must say I am pleased with the tiles though even I was not able to emulate some of the other great builds on here. Actually looking forward to another go at these, it will be much better next time. Back to work on her in January but this time hopefully, I can carry on without stopping and get the hull finally complete. As usual many thanks to the builders here who are pulling me along without realising it.

Many thanks everyone, I really appreciate it especially considering the quality of your builds.
Problem with taking time and replacing tiles you don't like the look of is that you use them up quickly. I try to reuse where I can but it doesn't look the same so I might be on the cadge soon for any leftovers you might have.

Not much progress this trip and will be coming back to the UK next week-end. I started building the masts so I would have something to do while tiling but they ended up taking over. Complete now though and pleased with the result. Will spend the rest of this week finishing off the tiling hopefully and replacing one of the booms. Paintwork looks a bit scrappy and I am not sure why. Could be the paint need thinning down, but I need to sort this before I paint the hull. I also finished the main yard but managed to snap the end of the studding boom. Had to pinch a length of 3mm dowel from other yards to do later on, so might just be able to work it in. You can see from this I used my keel jig (done with once planking was complete) to to hold the masts for storage but this also proved very useful when working on them particularity painting and tying on the blocks. See you next time shipmates.
