From the 2005 War of the Worlds movie Pegasus released the Alian tripod. The kit consists of one alien tripod that can be built in two formats, with deployed arm lasers or tentacles and collection cages. There are over 90 pieces which includes a base and clear parts. The model kit has been created from the original 3d computer model used in the movie!

You can follow the build diary for this on this link.

So Lets take a closer look...

The base is a single moulding with the film logo amongst rubble and a crushed car, the detail is crisp.

There are six clear parts the centre lens for the main light the cages and the hood top. all are well detailed with no flaw or sink. I am not sure the baskets work like this etched cages may have been a better option.

The rest of the kit is moulded in light grey plastic. The detail is very fine and crisp and generally of a good quality. A first look found no sink or injection marks. My only criticism is that the legs are not multi positional.

The instructions are basic but clear and functional

All in all a cracking little kit I sourced it from the US at $65
