Cheers all for the kind comments, very much appreciated. As for a diorama Hans, its something that I've been thinking about, but for the mo theirs too much other stuff to do. So onto the next mini project, as the pic below shows I`m just about to start making my next addition to the build, but I`m going to keep it a secret till I`m up and running at the weekend, I think it may be a little obvious what it is but guesses are welcome. OK onto the spades, the pics below show the spades in the making, the only point of concern here is when fitting the spades to the anchor they must just fall into the cut-outs (pic five shows the spade too tight), because the grain of the ebony runs with the shaft of the anchor so if the spades were only slightly tight it would split the end off the anchor tips. Next up will be the anchor stocks, I did think of making them out of ebony but decided against it in favour of walnut, the ship is an all natural finish and I personally like the contrast between the black of the ebony and the brown of the walnut. Cheers all appreciated New light arrived, time to get back to it, decided to leave finishing off the anchor, going to do all four together at a later stage. Instead turned my thoughts towards the water cutter, If I make that then I can finish off the figureheads trailing ribbons. Ok the pics below are of my new light (yippee) and the start of the water cutter, I'm making the water cutter out of 5.5 mm exterior ply, I bought a full sheet of 8ft x 4ft at the start of the build (still got loads of the stuff), on a 1/72 scale the piece measures in at 6.5 mm at the bottom and back and 4.5 at the front and top. I cut out the shape and then sanded in the taper, I will be cladding it in 1 mm walnut so had to get the original down to 4.5 bottom and 2.5 top and must admit found it a little tedious, got to the stage where I'm sticking on the walnut, both sides will be done simultaneously as I stick a piece on one side the corresponding piece will be applied to the other, this balances out the piece and helps to prevent any warp willz attached the following image(s):

Cheers all appreciated. On with the build. The pics below show the prototype for the water cutters curly bit, its construction is two pieces of 1 mm walnut in the centre running cross grain with two bits of .5 mm walnut on the outer edges running with the grain. As you can see the curve is OK but the thickness is wrong, as it reaches the front it tapers. Thought about sanding the curve to the correct width but this will bring it into the inner cross grain, so into the skip it goes. Will have to laminate the piece first without the bottom strip, sand the cross grain to the tapered thickness minus .5 mm then stick on the missing strip. willz attached the following image(s):

Cladded the water cutter and tapered. Rounded off the top piece near the figurehead as per photos studied. In hindsight dont think it was necessary to replicate all the bits but again just good practice willz attached the following image(s):
