BigGrin Hi Andy
Thanks for looking in and yes WEM have been promising the etch for a while now but still no show so maybe in the near future. The turned gun barrels are on the way so I can crack on with her when they arrive

Hi, I found your build via Google and have now registered so am looking forward to the next instalment of your Belfast build. Paintwork is looking very sharp, do you hand paint or mask and spray? It's good to see the Belfast in this scale, I was only aware of the old Airfix kit. Baz

BigGrin Hi Bazzer
Firstly a warm welcome to the forum.
Thanks for your comments there most welcome as for the model its a mixture of mask n spray and hand paint ,the hull was mostly mask and spray where as the superstructures were sprayed with the base coat grey then hand painted the camo as masking here is not so easy due to size. Hope this answers your question
regards

Hi Andy, thanks for the info. I've just been looking on YouTube at a review of the ship, it looks a good size, hopefully not quite as fiddly as the 1:600 models! I'm looking forward to further instalments of your build.

BigGrin Hi Bazzer
She is not huge but of a manageable size, I hope you mean 1/700 scale not 1/600 as iv done some of those too and the etch can be a challenge on these modelsLOL . If your interested look in the finished build gallery on the forum for the 1/700 Shinano and Akagi aircraft carriers there around pages 5 6 I think. Thanks for your comments much appreciated

hi arpurchase
great model of hms. belfarst. it is really nice.
I have visited hms. belfarst once in the late seventies. so long ago that I only vaguely remember the ship. I should see and take me along and take a vacation to London again and see both hms. belfarst and cutty sark, which I ironically have never seen in real life. (now I build it for the third time) by the way, I have also built a model of belfarst then. it was an Airfix kit and as I remember it had a very high detalie degree, compared to Hood and Bismark also from Airfix.
