Hi,

I took the opportunity to paint a few parts whilst the weather was dry.

The back bulkhead, access hatch, access corridor assembly and front bulkhead. before painting:

I also removed both the headlight protectors, plan is to prefab them out of wire.

All coated with primer and then airbrushed.

Matt aluminium on part of the front bulkhead and the back with the access hatch.

I also painted the floor of the corridor the same as the main floor in mica blue.

I have also been experimenting with washes to give it a 'lived in' feel on the internal bulkheads. not happy with some parts and will probably respray. other areas I will try dry brushing.

Thats all for now.

Regards
Claret

Hi,

A bit more progress with painting the main console dark sea grey and royal grey after drilling holes for the lighting effect and gluing the PE in place.

The centre TV monitor and the two drilled out holes either side are for PE and clear printed card supplied with the decal kit to have the displays illuminated.

Hi,

I have now glued the main support frame in place.

The following pics show the this, with the bulkhead walls dry fitted. I have still to place most of the decals on.

I fabricated straps for the fire extinguishers and am considering creating some coat hangers for the storage area under the bunk.

I have been looking for 1/32 divers tanks to also add to the storage area, but no joy yet!

Claret

Hi Claret,BigGrin

That`s looking really good and looks like fun to build.Cool

If you cannot find any scale scuba tanks and you want to make up something to scale, I can give you the exact measurements of both a 12 litre and a 15 litre tank as I have both in my spare room.

Good luck in your hunt and if no luck give me a shout. BigGrin

Hi,

It's been a very busy week, so only a little progress, but have decalled the main console and one of the bulk head instrument panels.

Used Micro set & Micro Sol as recommended by Jase. Awesome stuff. not sure how it works but it does what it says on the tinBigGrin. The decals contour to the shape of the PE excellently.

The Main console middle three graphics are not decals but clear printed plastic sheet (supplied in the aftermarket kit).

My only concern is, have I weathered the bulkhead to much and made it look more used that maybe it should be?

Regards
claret
