Hi Shipmates,

Just been looking at the official build and have noticed that Part 31 is in issue 14 that takes us right to the stern, So me hearties, I might make a start now, think it will be the launch first, going to leave the canons etc and do them in bulk!

So just have to wait now for mr postie delivering the next 4 issues and we will have a bit of a framed ship!
Happy Building, Russ

Hi
Yel it looks like we will have all hull frames but..
According to instructions you shouldn't glue them yet. You need to wait for deck (4 pieces). You need to keep everything square - otherwise big problems with deck fitting. But this is only my opinion.

Take care
Tom

Its not advisable to glue any of the frames into the keel until told to do so, simply because the lower deck becomes part of the process of the alignment of frames, and the method desicribed for the hull frame build method descibed is that of Artesania Latina, all will become clear at 16 onwards.

Hi captainalan!

If you want admin to notice you put lots of Cursing faces on you post like this:-
Cursing Cursing Cursing Cursing Cursing
You can also use Bold, Red Font Color and 9 for the Font Size.

It all helps to get noticed when admin take a quick look at the posts. I hope you get brought up to date soon, I know what it's like being left behind. Glare
Phone and complain as we are all meant to be at the same stage or so they said?.

Good Luck with your Build.

OhMyGod SadBlink Steve, sorry to hear your leaving us, but i can feel your pain. It's taking rather longer than one would expect to get everything sorted out by De Agostini.

I just hope that more do not follow suit.

Good Luck

Sorry to see you going, don't you think that you are being a bit hasty though? after all, you haven't been on here that long. We've all had some kind kind of hiccup or another and are sticking with it. I am waiting for my 3rd replacement for the last keel section, tab number 31, on each of the others have been snapped off in the post, annoying as it is, I will percivere.

I agree with Tisit's a new publication, and things will go wrong, also if parts need replacing, sometimes DeAgostini will have to contact it's supplier and that usually takes longer to send you the replacements?
The good thing though, there isn't much to build yet, so your not really missing anything.

On the strength of Russ's observation, I have finally decided that when I get my parts (being dispatched today! So only a week before delivery!) I will build a jig along the lines described in various posts. BigGrin

The most difficult part was explaining to the wife why I ordered 100 square corner brackets from ebay. I tried to explain that B & Q could do trade packs of non-square brackets for £15.00 plus and my hundred only cost abt £12.00 including postage. However, the question is still hovering 'What will you do with a hundred brackets??'. My big mistake was mumbling something about extra shelves in the garage!Cursing

Never mind Mike...if you had got the brackets a bit earlier you could have sold the left over brackets to us and made yourself a tidy little profit out of it in the bargain LOL I bought 16 for my jig and by the time that I lined them up in between frames of my build I only used half of them..its a no win situation..he he

I obviously wasn't clear enough! I did buy the e-bay brackets - all 100 of them that's why I need to explain to the wife why!

Even worse this afternoon, only place to buy CD cleaning kit in Leeds for Mother-in-law turns out to be Maplins! (or that was my story!) Been over there, bought cleaning kit and then spent half an hour drooling Drool over their tools section!

Just had to buy their 'piano planes' kit and some really minature G-clamps, I can see them being used for the main plank bending and easier to handle than the larger sprung clips that I have already bought G-clamps. The 'piano planes' are a set of three like a Davis plane and made in shiny brass and wood. planes

the other option for people behind is to scrap the subscription and and get it from your newsagent. i am waiting for issues 11 to 14 but the shops have 14 already so they will be at 16 when i get 11. i was considering this but have not decided yet.
