Hi Does anyone out there have a spare chainwale support bracket - if you have fitted your chainwales and find you have a spare I would love it if you could post it my way, P+P covered of course. They came with issues 72 and 82 (12 in each one) and 24 of them are required all together but I only have 23 They are the brass angled brackets with a nail hole in each end (painted black in the pic below). Please PM me if you can help, I don't really want to call customer services yet as I am still waiting for a replacement issue 85!

Hi Steve, I`m only up to part 23 in my build, but I have all parts so I checked for you to see if I can help. OMG I`ve only got 18. Can anyone confirm how many of these brackets are required as it don`t tell you how many are meant to be supplied. Sorry Steve, Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi Steve, Following up on the above, when we discussed the fitting of the wales the other day and I posted a link to the expanded pictures, well I just revisited that link and it only shows 9 brackets on one side, so my ageing brain says we only need 18 for the two sides. Could this be correct or are there more brackets supplied in future issues for other wales? Happy Building, from a now confused old fool. Hi Derek, There are actually 12 per side - 4 on the main, 3 on the fore and 3 on the mizzen plus there are 2 small separate chainwales with one bracket each, these are on the main and mizzen only. Im sure there wont be any more supplied as by the end of this issue (87) all the chainwales are to be fitted to the hull. A couple of spares would be handy on this sort of thing just in case one or two go missing Cheers Steve

You should get 10 in issue 72 and 8 in issues 82. so 18 in total. Thats from checking the Mag I haven't counted parts. I don't see any in issues after 82. If you don't want to wait for replacements you could make some from brass tube. just crimp the ends in a vice and drill a hole, but I would recommend doing them all that way or not at all.

Jase Hi Jase, Thanks for that info. Now I got the 18 you stated, but steve is coming up with a required total of 24. Not sure now where the confusion is, as to how many are actually required. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Here is a breakdown - fore mast - 3 per side mainmast - 4 per side plus 1 per side for the "mini" chainwale. mizzen - 3 per side plus 1 per side for the "mini" chainwale. Total 24 Your trying to confuse me now Steve

Nope, had a good search last night and not turned up so I think I was short in one of the mags, but if you only recieve 24 then I doubt anyone will have a spare one. Thanks everyone though! Regards Steve

Well you could always order up a copy of one of the Mags in which the original supports where included but as we all know the delivery times can be protracted The other option as already stated is to make your own. try this Take a length of Round Brass rod ( I had some 1/16" in the garage) Cut a length using one of the original supports as a guide. I would cut it longer than required. Flatten the ends, I used my lump hammer as an anvil and an ordinary hammer to beat the c*** out of the brass rod. Once the ends are flat you can shape them using a file or a dremmil if you have one, drill the holes for the pins. Jobs a good one It took me about 5 mins to produce one Piccy attached. Note sure about the size as I do not have one to use as a guide Best of luck GilShapley attached the following image(s): Current Build:- [color=blue]Stash Avro Lancaster (Full Kit)plus some extra issues I picked up at a good price [color=blue]Built:- Norman Catapult by Mantua,Roman Catapult by Mantua,HMS Victory,HMS Victory XSection,Focker DB1,Bismark,English Carronade Titanic Lifeboat,American Civil War Gatling,Hummer,Sopwith Camel F1,Occre Jupiter ,OcCre Wagon, Latina Arab Dhow, Eaglemass Orrery OcCre Rogers 119 [color=red][color=red]RB7,OcCre Missippi River Boat, Model Airways Fokker DR1 OcCre London L>C>C 106 Ugears Scrambler, Ugears Hexapod Explorer UGears Off-Road Vehicle

All done I used brass wire / rod and found that with flat large pliers you can crush the ends a bit at a time. The last pic shows the new piece in place (foreground) the rear one is an original for comparison. Thanks all for your support. Steve stevie_o attached the following image(s):
