progressing with the frames, these are very delicate,I can see that breakages are going to occur the the tops of the frames. so I've decided to replace these when the frames are completed, and a bit more of the framework is done. decided to infill the whole hull because of the delicacy of the frames, and the planking is quite thin 1.5mm. x 4mm.an intering part is the wales are fitted first being thicker then the normal planking, and the gunport framing is the first job, unlike european kits, the framing is done like the real thing,a batton between the frames, then another on the inside and finaly another on the outside, which makes up part of the planking.and then fill in in-between with planking. clocked up 50hrs so far. karl1113 attached the following image(s): Current builds: SotS, USS Consitution, San Felipe, D51 loco, HMS Surprise, RB7, Arab Dhow, Jotika HMS Victory Completed builds: HMS Pickel, Thermopylae, Mississipi river boat, Mary Rose, Cutty Sark, San Francisco II, HMS Victory x5, Titanic Lifeboat, Panart HMS Victory Launch, Hachette Titanic, Virginia Schooner, Endeavour Longboat. http://www.model-space.com/gb/

Nice work Karl, looks like a good solid base for planking - out of interest, where is the cheapest place for getting balsa from? Steve

thank you all for comments, this week progressing with the transom, painted and offered up to the framework, looks ok.started the planking,if you want to plank in scale, then this is what it's like.for those who remember imperial measures, planking is 1/16" thick (1.5mm) x 3/32" wide.(2mm.)and is going to take ages to do. 75hrs building so far. karl1113 attached the following image(s): Current builds: SotS, USS Consitution, San Felipe, D51 loco, HMS Surprise, RB7, Arab Dhow, Jotika HMS Victory Completed builds: HMS Pickel, Thermopylae, Mississipi river boat, Mary Rose, Cutty Sark, San Francisco II, HMS Victory x5, Titanic Lifeboat, Panart HMS Victory Launch, Hachette Titanic, Virginia Schooner, Endeavour Longboat. http://www.model-space.com/gb/
