My father passed away in August last year, he had started the Victory model which he wanted to present to me once complete so with his passing I took the project on with the goal of completing it, so I collected the last few pieces and started finishing it off. He had completed up to about issue 31. This is my first model ship build so I have made a few mistakes so far, but its a learning curve. In the past I have been primarily interested in Model railroading from a set my grand father had which was passed onto me when I was old enough and from there I have added and scratch built many more pieces. I also have and an interest in dioramas, particularly odd WWII tanks. I am emigrating soon so I will build up to deck height and ship it over to my new home and then complete it. So onward we go, some photos of my progress thus far. Ps. I had not thought of taking photos until I stumbled upon this forum, so now there will be many to come akibro attached the following image(s):

Many thanks for the welcoming! I forgot to mention my father had build ships for many decades including the usuals: Bismark, Hood, Cutty Sark, Endeavour and another seven that I remember, we were estranged for a almost a decade and I reconnected with him two years before he passed away so I am not too sure of what other ships he did. He started off building them for his own pleasure but had to sell them when he moved and needed to free up space, two of them were built on commission that I know of. I unfortunately have no records of who he built ships for he was a terrible record keeper! I will post more photo's when I get a chance. I have completed the middle decking (I think that's the deck) akibro attached the following image(s):

Many thanks for all the warm welcomes and positive comments on my build. I am waiting for a back order copy of issue 39 so I can redo the keel and bow, I didn't mount it with the 4mm gap from the top so it is sitting too high and the rudder portion of the keel got a little over sanded so that has already come off.
I will update again once I have replacement parts. I do however need to go over the hull with some 1000 grit to smooth it up.
