Keighley’s Chewbacca Peter Mayhew is back alongside original cast in new Star Wars film.Months of speculation concerning Star Wars, one of the most successful film franchises of all time, has ended as the cast for the latest instalment was announced. Familiar faces from the long-running saga will star alongside relative unknowns for Star Wars: Episode VII, which is due to begin filming in the UK next month.
Star Wars newcomers John Boyega, Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac will join original stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew from Keighley and Kenny Baker in the new film.
The cast will also include little-known Brit Daisy Ridley, whose credits include roles in TV drama Mr Selfridge, rising star Domhnall Gleeson, and veteran Minority Report actor Max von Sydow.
Andy Serkis will be joining one franchise from another, having captivated audiences in the role of Gollum in The Lord Of The Rings.
Director JJ Abrams said: “It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again.”
The new film is set to be released in December of next year.

Well in my opinion he can't do any worse than episode 1 with JaJa.. I was never into startrek but seeing his films turned me and I enjoyed both films of his and even brought a handful of the Enterprise kits to build and I would have never had done that in the past being a big StarWars fan. I don't think your on your own with these thoughts but the anticipation seeing it when it's released is hitting fever pitch even talk going around that those who where young enough to see the original series when it came out are taking out Gym memberships to get fit so they can live long enough to see all 3 films of his Spencer

I think Abrams did an awesome fob with the Star Trek movies. I watched the original series, all the various iterations and they are fantastic. You have to view them as stand Aline's though. Too many differences to do otherwise. I am really eager to see what he does with Star Wars. Tired, Old, and Cranky!

All gags aside ..episode VII will hopefully be better than the last 3 films..return of the jedi was not a great film ..but in comparison to episodes 1 2 and 3 it's an epic... ...John

Andy That is one heck of a big model. Building things such as this in such a large scale must be great fun - must be wonderful to gave a job you enjoy while at the same time getting paid. That certainly does look like the bat mobile "glued" under the falcon. Happy Modelling
