Great photographs and very neat work. I see you have decided to plank the middle deck it looks very effective. Can I ask how long you made your planks? Pam's shipyard is closed for now no more room!

I planked the decks in halfs [using 0.5 x 4mm]and then seated the decks and used one long strip to cover the seems. My technique for planking was to put a full plank on wet [ie. using pva glue] then cutting the strip up into lengths to give the planking effect. The length used was just about rib distance because I tried smaller, which would have been to scale but it looked too cluttered. A bit of poetic licence bearing in mind this is only the middle deck. Absolutely brill work there...very nice in deed, I noticed the top of rib 15 there?? in your progression from applying the first plank up to the stage where you are at at the moment, has this had any affect on rib 15, i.e is it drawing it into line???... Jonny Rib 15 is a nightmare but we all know that. My theory is sand where necessary and rebuild where necessary. I've used some 0.5 x 4mm strips to build up where needs be. ArtfulBodger Previous Build: HMS. Bounty

Hi ArtfulBodger,
Great job on the build m8, What colour are your planks I really like that colour which would look nice on my HMS Fly instead of Tanganyka.
Thanks Chris..On the bench 1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.

I'm a bit slower than most of you but they won't let me take my build into the hospital. Still a few weeks and I'll be back at it hopefully! ArtfulBodger Previous Build: HMS. Bounty
