Yep the planking takes a lot of time and does not produce much for the build diary

I can understand the UK guys having their hands full of strips of wood but SA has gone very quiet as well.

Personally I think the time of year has much to do with it ...The week following clocks going back is reckoned to be a bad time for all ...the friday between 5pm and 7pm has the worst stats....for motor vehicle accidents ...never totally believed it myself but saw 1 fatal and 2 serious on the A13 friday evening 5530ish ...also houghts are turning toward Christmas etc.but I think David is right about the planking...as for me Newcastle 1..Arsenal 0...iam just trying to avoid Magpie...will just have to wait for some better results from Rugby and the test series

Hi there

blame me, but I am still having quite some hard times to get used to all the techniques and tricks used here, as this is my first wooden model ever. Believe it or not, my 12 pounder from issue#1 still is in progress, even though I have received the first 10 issues yet. I took em apart several times because either the colors or the glue weren't working.
And the most important of all, I finally got myself a decent lamp to light up my workstation. Before it was impossible to work after coming home, just too dark.
So don't worry, I stick with you guys and will post progress as soon as possible.

Greetings, Timm

Hi shipmates! BigGrin

Things have gone very quiet lately.

What can I say the fights seem to have stopped, people are hard at work planking, we have covered anchors & cannons some time back, dark nights are with us again, it's to cold in the shed and a lot of you are waiting for the next post to deliver the next 4 issues.

Well I'm waiting to start the lower hull when issue 32 comes out this week. Made some new supports for the ship. The ribs are held between 2 pieces of MDF and bolted together, the ship is now held ready to plank (No Movement) the Multi Jig has worked out great, quick to change the setup, add new parts. I stopped planking after the middle deck gun ports as we won't get the upper deck parts till later, issue 45 & 46 and it will be easier to fit the decks before planking that part of the hull.

First off, Toffees Rock.

I am here in spirit at least, my build is stalled atm, as i have a 16day old baby to look after with my other half, and a 3yr old as well, i am having trouble to find time to do more.

I have done the main deck and painted the inside sections black, and glued the frames after the pinning.
TBH i cheated a bit on the pining of the deck, i drilled the deck only with my mini drill first, it made pushing the pins in easier. so when i find time i will continue.

Hi there

I'm here as well. I've started my hull building last week so I've got hands full of work yet. I managed to fit first and second deck. Right now I've got hull fairing to do and planking could begin :)
I'll post up some pics later because I've done some modifications already si you can have a look.
Can't wait to get another 4 issues this week :)
