Hi thanks Steve for looking in.anyhow cat get off it box done, and made start on ship herself.first job get rid of lumps on hull where bin cut from sprue.used emery stick for this inch wide, with emery double sided taped to it.as find with file it so easy to dig the corner in.and end up with dirty great gouge, just where ya don't want it.then hull rubbed down with 400 wet an dry used wet.same again with 1200 grade.takes care of small mould line down middle to.now as smooth as baby bot.gives nice key for paint to.then glued the bow parts together.and put the 3 formers in Hull.which ill now leave to set over nite.watch which way round you put front former in, as there is slight bevell on it.to follow the contours of the hull.the other 2 being on strait part of Hull can be fitted either way.did have to sand location pins a little as they were rather tight.cheers and happy moddelling mick. mogwai attached the following image(s): Builds hms victory, suzuki gsx 1300 R hayabusa, honda C B 750, lamborghini countach L P 500 S, tamiya 1/16 rc full option tiger 1 tank, built, Mclaren M P 4 - 23. Good start Mogwai, and that upgrade set looks the business, it'll make a world of difference to your build. I love the case you made to keep the cats off - brilliant idea. Look forward to your next update and I'll be following this one with great interest. Happy building David

Hi Mick, The kit looked real good in it`s own right, but that is one heck of an upgrade set. When your working on the stern, I`ll be able to look after the bow end for you and keep my cats off it. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Wow, that is some serious amount of etch there , I found when doing Yamato I found it was easier to photocopy the etch instructions and blow them up to A3 size in colour. Really going to love watching you put all this together, lots patience and steady hands going to be needed with this little lot

Looks like a great kit. Are you going to add a tiny Steven Seagal to the model?

Hi thanks to all that looked in and left comments. This will be a long project all right.Steven seagal can find his own ship. got enough on plate me thinks.the hull now has its bow an main deck added.giving her the full length of 53 inches.ok the penny on the deck taking the(use your own word here) done one the etch 20mm guns to compare it to plastic kit one.its 10 parts and 22 folds in very small bits of etch.and took 2hrs to do.there are 56 of these alone to do. .cheers and happy moddelling mick. mogwai attached the following image(s): Builds hms victory, suzuki gsx 1300 R hayabusa, honda C B 750, lamborghini countach L P 500 S, tamiya 1/16 rc full option tiger 1 tank, built, Mclaren M P 4 - 23. Now that is a vast improvement over the kit gun and some great work putting it together. Certainly a lot of patience required for it

Hi Mick, You could be forgiven for thinking, that the plastic gun was for a totally different kit. That is a vast improvement and well worth the cost, effort and time it has/will take. Think Steven Segal would be well impressed, as am I. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi first of all thankyou to all who looked in, and left comments.not so much a build update but seeking opinion.as not had much moddelling time lately.just thinking the wooden decks that came with the upgrade set look so good.be a pity to paint them blue.thinking give them a coat of Danish oil instead.so just wondering what ya think, blue or natural.cheers mick. mogwai attached the following image(s): Builds hms victory, suzuki gsx 1300 R hayabusa, honda C B 750, lamborghini countach L P 500 S, tamiya 1/16 rc full option tiger 1 tank, built, Mclaren M P 4 - 23.
